TENS Therapy for Pain Relief
Chronic pain—pain that persists as a constant companion—can severely affect quality of life. In many cases, normal daily activities are no longer possible.
Pain therapy is based on a multimodal approach, combining medication, physiotherapy, and relaxation techniques.
Another effective treatment option is TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation).
With this method, the affected areas are stimulated using mild electrical impulses. The low-frequency current is not painful; at most, patients may feel a slight tingling sensation on the skin.
Electrodes are placed on the skin over the painful region. The skin then transmits the impulses to the nervous system.
As a result, the transmission of pain signals to the brain is reduced, helping to calm the overactive pain processing system.
